Kids that have overly prominent ears are often targeting for teasing by their peers and this teasing can lead to decreased self-confidence and a lifetime of being self-conscious of the appearance of their ears. Ears that are overly large or stick out from the side of the head may be corrected through Otoplasty. The Otoplasty, or Ear Surgery, may be performed on children as young as 5, and it is often recommended that the procedure be performed early on when the cartilage is the most malleable, that said, Otoplasty may still be performed on into adulthood. Dr. Waldman achieves the more normal, natural looking results by manipulating the cartilage of the ear into the correct ear structure and placement.

The Otoplasty procedure is performed in typically one to two hours with the incision place behind the ear to hide any scaring following the procedure. If you are interested in learning more about the Otoplasty procedure, recovery or to find out if you or your child may be a good candidate for the procedure, contact our office to schedule your confidential consultation with Dr. Waldman today.
