This procedure is designed to reshape or reduce the size of just the nipple although it can also be combined with an Areola Reduction. Because this procedure is quick and simple with almost immediate results and minimal risk, and can be performed in conjunction with other procedures, such as a Breast Augmentation or a Breast Lift, it is increasingly being requested by patients.

THE NIPPLE RECONSTRUCTION PROCEDURE
Your Nipple Reduction in New Hampshire will be performed by board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Waldman. Nipple reduction surgery is generally performed under local anesthesia, at an outpatient surgery center in about 30 to 60 minutes. The incisions are inconspicuous and made on the nipple. Excess tissue is removed and the skin sutured. Sometimes a cylinder of skin around the neck of the nipple is removed and then the outer portion is “pushed” back and sutured.
RECOVERING FROM NIPPLE RECONSTRUCTION
Nipple sensation is generally normal and a woman’s ability to breastfeed is usually preserved. Dr. Waldman’s patients experience little bruising, very little swelling if any, and some tenderness around the incision area. All in all, there is very little discomfort with very minimal down time and most patients return to normal activity within one day.
